Self Announces ZK Residency, Inviting Builders to Join Three-Week Program in San Francisco
Since launching at EthDenver 2025, Self has become a leading provider of zero-knowledge (ZK) identity and proof of humanity infrastructure. Protocols and platforms across Web3 now integrate Self for privacy-preserving sybil resistance, OFAC compliance, and humanity verification, including Google Cloud, Velodrome, Aave, Lemonade, and Farcaster.
Self’s core developer team has taken their technology to hackathons and developers' events worldwide, supporting builders implementing the Self SDK in Taipei, Cannes, New Delhi, and virtually with Celo Foundation’s Proof-of-Ship virtual builder series. Developers received hands-on mentorship as they brought their idea to life with a future-proofed identity layer integrated on day one.
Building on these global learnings, Self is launching a three-week ZK Residency in San Francisco. Starting Tuesday, October 14, selected developers will work out of Celo’s San Francisco HQ to build prototypes and scale applications that leverage decentralized identity for real-world use cases.

Self will provide developers selected to participate with a travel stipend and housing in San Francisco, ensuring all talented builders are welcome to participate rather than limiting the opportunity to Bay Area residents.
Self ZK Residents will receive mentorship and coaching from industry leaders with proven track records of scaling Web2 applications and Web3 protocols, office hours with ZK experts, opportunities to demo their projects, and more.
Applications open today, October 1st, with developers accepted on a rolling basis. Learn more here.
