Everything you need to know to claim USA₮ on Celo through Self’s privacy-first infrastructure

Two weeks ago, Self and USA₮ launched the first stablecoin distribution program designed to reach only verified human users. Powered by Google Cloud, the USA₮ Mainnet Faucet has brought the U.S.-regulated dollar stablecoin issued by Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., and backed by Tether to hundreds of verified users worldwide since launch. 

Now, for a limited time, the offering has increased 10x. Users can claim up to $10 by verifying their unique humanity and eligibility through the faucet ($5), earn another $5 by sending USA₮ to another Celo wallet ($2), and hold $50+ USA₮ for 10 consecutive days for an additional $3.

How It Works:

  • Visit Google Cloud’s USA₮ Mainnet Faucet portal 

  • Connect your Celo wallet (Ledger, Valora, MetaMask, Rabby) to the USA₮ Mainnet Faucet

  • Verify your identity with Self, using your biometric passport, ID Card, or Aadhaar only.

    • Verifications on Self using third-party verifiers are not eligible for the USAT rewards. 

    • Self uses zero-knowledge technology to generate a proof that you are eligible (18+, not a resident of an OFAC-sanctioned country) without ever transmitting your raw personal data

  • Once your Self Pass is verified, your wallet will immediately receive 5 USA₮ at no cost

  • Send USA₮ to another Celo wallet to receive another 2 USA₮

  • Hold 50+ USA₮ or more for at least 10 consecutive days to receive another 3 USA₮

Note: 

  • Users must verify their identity with an NFC Chip-enabled passport, ID Card, or Indian Aadhaar through Self’s privacy-first, zero-knowledge infrastructure. Registrations through third-party verifiers supported within the Self app will not receive the USAT allocation at this time.

  • Every real, verified user earns one allocation. You cannot register multiple IDs through the same Self Pass to claim, but you can refer a friend directly through the Self App.
