As a passionate frontend developer, Sai Ram often receives questions from his non-technical friends. The latest challenge Sai heard struck a chord: How can someone onboard and work effectively with freelance developers whom they’d never met in person and whose work they are entirely unfamiliar with doing themselves?
Sai was interested in using his experience to answer this question, and the Build with Celo - Proof of Ship offered the perfect opportunity to develop a solution. For Proof of Ship #3, Sai built gitDontIgnore, an AI-powered onchain project manager that helps even non-technical leaders efficiently delegate freelancers for project creation, task assignments, fund distribution, and testing.
While the AI agent framework solves the workflow issue, the identity and reputation layer are another crucial component that needs to be addressed. In the age of AI, employers need tools to verify virtual employees’ humanity, and confirmation of characteristics like age and country of residence is necessary to ensure compliance. Sai solves for this with Self, using the zk-powered proof system for secure identity verification, allowing clients and developers to onboard privately without revealing sensitive data.
After placing in the top 10 for Proof of Ship #3, Sai shared his inspiration for building the project and his future plans for scaling:
What inspired you to develop gitdontignore?
This project was born from a real-life scenario I encountered. One of my non-tech friends had to handle a tech project for his business. He was confused about how to proceed, unsure about timelines, and didn’t know whether he could rely on a freelancer. That’s when we came up with the idea: What if a project could be managed entirely by an AI project manager, from ideation to testing and deployment? That was the starting point for gitDontIgnore.
Why did you choose Self for the identity layer?
We felt that Self was the best fit to enhance reliability and ensure compliance within the application, and it turned out to be a great decision.
What's your vision for the future of gitdontignore?
Our goal is to fully develop and polish the product based on user feedback and ultimately release it as a real-world solution.
